The Lyons National Bank (LNB) donated $1,000 towards two different initiatives with the Penn Yan Central School District. A check for $500 was donated to the "Parent Teacher Group" of Penn Yan Elementary for playground renovations. The money will be used to purchase brand new equipment for the playground at the elementary school.

Another check was presented to the superintendent of business for $500 towards the "Leader in Me" Process at the elementary school. The process was designed to help teachers develop leadership skills in their students. The "7 Habits Tree" is used in the process to deepen student understanding and acknowledge what the school and teacher believe to be important. "Leadership" is the umbrella term to encompass the many character traits and basic life competencies that parents, business leaders, and educators are voicing as the desired skills necessary to thrive in the 21st century.
